Rhapsody In Blue is now on the playlist

I was finally able to get my daughter playing Rhapsody In Blue by George Gershwin, up on the playlist. It's the concerto version not the solo version, which means she plays it with her piano teacher accompanying her. The recording was made at her solo recital in November on 2008.

The link is not a video like the others but until I figure out how to work around a couple of issues with my computer, it's the best we could do for now.

I hope you enjoy it.

Oh, and don't forget to make a comment to win my book, I'd love to give you one!

Win a copy of my book, The Mark

She's had it forever. A tiny mark on her hand. No big deal, right? But when Tori discovers that her ordinary freckle is really some kind of microscopic tattoo, she doesn't know what to think, especially after meeting Eric, a guy she feels strangely connected to--and not just because he has a mark too.

All too soon, Tori and Eric realize that their marks are only the first clue to a mystery that will change everything. And with each new discovery, Tori finds herself pulled deeper and deeper into a world she could never have imagined.

"The Mark is an engaging, fun puzzle of a book--a riddle to be savored. I was taken in by the surprising romance, and the intriguing storyline kept me hooked until the last page. I'm hoping for a sequel!" --Aubrey Mace, author of Spare Change, My Fairy Grandmother, and Santa Maybe

Win a signed copy of The Dark Divine by Bree Despain!

A prodigal son
A dangerous love
A deadly secret . . .
I stood back and watched his movements. Daniel had that way about him that could shut me down in an instant. . . . I kicked the gravel a couple of times and worked up my courage again. “Tell me . . . I mean . . . why did you come back? Why now, after all this time?”

Grace Divine, daughter of the local pastor, always knew something terrible happened the night Daniel Kalbi disappeared—the night she found her brother Jude collapsed on the porch, covered in blood. But she has no idea what a truly monstrous secret that night really held. And when Daniel returns three years later, Grace can no longer deny her attraction to him, despite promising Jude she’ll stay away.

As Grace gets closer to Daniel, her actions stir the ancient evil Daniel unleashed that horrific night. Grace must discover the truth behind Jude and Daniel's dark secret . . . and the cure that can save the ones she loves. But she may have to lay down the ultimate sacrifice to do it—her soul.

Win a signed copy of The Maze Runner by James Dashner

When Thomas wakes up in the lift, the only thing he can remember is his first name. He has no recollection of his parents, his home, or how he got where he is. His memory is blank.

But he's not alone. When the lift's doors open, Thomas finds himself surrounded by kids who welcome him to the Glade, a large expanse enclosed by stone walls.

Just like Thomas, the Gladers don't know why or how they got to the Glade. All they know is that every morning, for as long as anyone can remember, the stone doors to the maze that surrounds them have opened. Every night, for just as long, they've closed tight. Every thirty days a new boy is delivered in the lift. And no one wants to be stuck in the Maze after dark.

The Gladers were expecting Thomas's arrival. But the next day, a girl is sent up-the first girl ever to arrive in the Glade. And more surprising yet is the message she delivers. The Gladers have always been convinced that if they can solve the maze that surrounds the Glade, they might find their way home...wherever that may be. But it's looking more and more as if the Maze is unsolvable.

And something about the girl's arrival is starting to make Thomas feel different. Something is telling him that he just might have some answers-if he can only find a way to retrieve the dark secrets locked within his own mind.

Great News!

My daughter Sam took first place in her concerto competition which means she will be playing with the American Fork Symphony on April 13th. She will be performing the 3rd movement of Grieg's Concerto in A minor.

The main character in my book, Tori, is also a piano player and during the book is working on Rhapsody in Blue by Gershwin. I hope to soon put Sam's Rhapsody in Blue performance on my playlist. I need to cut it a bit so it's not quite so large a file.

On a sad note, I will need to cancel my one and only book signing since it is scheduled during Sam's performance on the 13th of April. I wouldn't miss playing with her for the world. (I play with the symphony)

My Fairy Grandmother by Aubrey Mace, signed copy

Descended from fairies? At first, it sounds unbelievable to 9-year-old Kaitlin, but according to her grandmother Viola it's true.

Soon, Viola begins telling Katie stories of her family's fairy past, and in spite of Katie's initial reluctance to visit her grandmother, she finds herself being drawn into the stories. But as Katie learns more about her family, Katie's mother becomes increasingly concerned about Viola's mental health. Good thing Katie knows better! She believes her fairy grandmother isn't crazy, and that her stories of elegant castles, evil counts, and exciting escapades are all true!

From the author of Spare Change, this enchanting tale will delight children, teens, and parents alike. Read My Fairy Grandmother and learn for yourself how a good story can bring a whole family together.

Aubrey Mace is the author of Spare Change and Santa Maybe, A Holiday Love Story. Thanks Aubrey for donating a signed copy!

The Ball's In Her Court by Heather Justesen

She's got a great job, a loving group of family and friends, and basketball skills like you wouldn't believe, but Denise DeWalt's life is far from perfect, and she's about to come face-to-face with a past she hoped to leave behind forever.

Twenty-six-year-old Denise thinks she's come to terms with her childhood in the foster care system, but when her old nightmares return, Denise realizes that she must deal with her past once and for all if she ever wants to move on to a brighter future with Rich, the only man who can see past her former life. As Denise's search leads her closer and closer to the one person she hoped she'd never have to face again, she begins to realize that her future depends on just one person--herself.

This emotional and inspirational love story proves that life is full of unexpected twists and turns--especially when it comes to facing your demons, fighting for love, and finding happiness for the future.
